Situation:

In the section "search collection" of the Archive public display, an Identifier can be used as a filter. The preview text of the field tells you to enter e.g., a catalogue raisonné number.

After an ID has been entered, an additional field shows up, from which you can select more filters (the type of identifier).

Complication:

Users of the public display may not know, how to enter the CR number. They might type in the name of the catalog and the CR number. Only after entering an ID, they can see the additional filters.

Suggested solution:

Switching the order of the filters might help users to type in the ID correctly. Users could then first select a filter type and then enter the corresponding ID.
